Watch free movies on YouTube

Full-length movies are just a click away.

Currently, the only way I watch a movie is through my Netflix subscription (and that is only the online version) and when I grab a movie from the nearest Redbox machine for $1. Both of these methods are limited in their movie selections.

My entertainment budget is limited, so I don't want to subscribe to Hulu or go to the movie theater to broaden my movie options. Fortunately, I found out that YouTube actually has full-length movies available for anyone to watch. Best of all—you can do so completely free of any charges, fees or subscription costs.

There are several ways to locate movies. You can type the movie name into the search box at the top of YouTube's homepage. I've been able to watch movies like Lemonade Mouth that way. The other way is to head to the movies section of the website. I can't figure out how you get there from the homepage, so I'll give you the secret link:

Some of the movies that are currently available for your viewing pleasure include The Fifth Element, The Runaways, Night of the Living Dead, Soccer Mom, Popeye, Miracle on 34th Street, Backdraft, Dracula, The Cabin in the Woods, Remember the Titans and Top Gun. There are thousands more so I couldn't possibly list them all.

If you are on a tight budget then I highly recommend you give YouTube a try. You don't even need to become a member in order to take advantage of all the free movies. Best of all, these flicks are available with the touch of a button at your convenience.

Cut down on entertainment costs

Get creative and save money.

Looking for a way to trim your budget? It is unlikely that you'll be able to trim your daily living expenses so it becomes necessary then to examine other categories within your budget. The first category that I trimmed after my ex-husband left and finances became tight was the entertainment budget. It wasn't as hard to trim this area of the budget as I thought it was going to be.

For awhile we eliminated going to the movies, which costs a minimum of $30 each movie (and that didn't include drinks or snacks). Instead, we pay $7.99 per month for a Netflix subscription that allows us to watch unlimited movies and television shows.

If Netflix doesn't have what we are looking for, we'll try the library. Libraries have a surprisingly large collection of movies and you can rent them for free. For movies that are much newer, we go to Redbox and rent them for $1 a night. Half the time we get a code to use with the Redbox machine and end up renting the movie for free.

Of course, there are other forms of entertainment than watching television. We already have a Wii so we stopped buying new games and started renting them from the library. You can purchase used games at a discount from stores like Game Stop.

Looking to get out of the house? Why not attend a high school or college football game? Take advantage of any local parades or festivals. Spend a day at the park or lounge around in the sun at the beach. We have a pretty big zoo in our town that is also totally free to visit. Always watch your local paper for coupons to local attractions. You may be able to afford them at a discounted price.

Finally, take another look at your library. In addition to books and movies, our library has a ton of free programs for county residents to take part in. My daughter has participated in an acting class, a Chopped food challenge, arts and crafts projects, and animal education sessions. Our library even has free exercise sessions.

Free Stella Artois Holiday Chalice

Keep for yourself or give as a gift.

How would you like to get a free Stella Artois Holiday Chalice? Once the free chalice arrives, you can fill it with goodies (like chocolates or a piece of jewelry) and wrap it with colored cellophane and give it as a gift to a friend, family member, or coworker. You can even give it alongside a nice bottle of champagne.

You must be 21 years old in order to request a free Stella Artois Holiday Chalice. When you get to the registration page, you'll need to enter your birth date to confirm that you are indeed old enough to continue. You'll also need to enter your zip code before clicking the red “Submit” button.

Fill out the form that pops up to get the free chalice. The form requires you to enter the code CPPFXHM, and you must type it in by hand. It won't accept anything that has been copied and pasted. This may be just to prevent robots from trying to request the free sample.

Your name, address and daytime phone number are also requested. At the bottom of the form you must check the box that states you agree to the terms and conditions of the offer. The other box, which for permission to contact you with future emails from the company, is optional. Click the red “Submit” button when you finish.

When you are all finished, you'll receive a "Thank You" message. The offer for the free chalice is good until December 31st, 2012 so make sure you take advantage of it before time runs out. Remember, shipping is free as well so there is no cost to you at all.

Free Tums Freshers

Treat heartburn and get fresh breath at the same time.

Who doesn't get heartburn from time to time? While I don't get heartburn often, I prefer to keep a bottle of Tums in my medicine cabinet. I also use it with my daughter, who has had acid reflux since birth. I was excited to learn that Tums is offering a free sample of their new product—Tums Freshers. The sample is being provided by Target. It gets rid of heartburn while freshening your breath at the same time.

In order to get the free sample of Tums Freshers you'll need to head to Target's free sample page. Click on the image of the Tums Freshers product. Now you must answer three survey questions, pressing the “Next” button each time. Now fill out your full name and mailing address.

There are two boxes at the bottom that you can leave checked if you'd like to receive future emails from Tums and its partners. I unchecked the boxes before I clicked the red “Next” button. Finally, you have to confirm your details and answer a security question to make sure that you are not a robot. My questions was “What is 1 plus one?” Click the red “Submit” button and you're all done. It's that easy.

Target will let you know that the free sample will arrive in eight to ten weeks. If you're anything like me, you'll forget about the sample until it shows up in your mailbox. I can't wait to try it though, as I normally like the products Tums produces. The fresh breath addition makes the product perfect for taking on the go to restaurants and evenings out with friends.

Free sample of Airborne

Stop a cold in its track

Airborne is currently giving away free samples on Facebook. All you have to do is “Like” their page and then request the samples. Up for grabs is a sample of Airborne Plus Energy, Airborne Hot Soothing Mix, Airborne Chewables and Airborne Effervescent.

Each household is allowed to request the four samples just once. You must also be over the age of 18. The Facebook page says you can expect the free samples to arrive in 6 to 8 weeks, which is the standard amount of time for freebies.

After you click “Like” you will be able to click the bright purple button that says “Get 4 FREE Samples!” Then click “Go to app” and fill out your first name, last name, e-mail address, date of birth, gender, shipping address and two questions. There are two boxes at the end of the form that you can either leave checked, or uncheck them. I tend to uncheck them unless it is a company I purchase from regularly. When you are all done, click “Submit.”

You can easily share this freebie with your friends. The "Thank You" page that pops up has this option available. It is such a good freebie that I plan on sharing it. Who doesn't want extra protection from coming down with a nasty cold that can make you miss school or work.

I will say that I have taken Airborne in the past and it didn't taste bad or anything so most people shouldn't have any problem with it. I didn't get sick while I was taking it, but I can't vouch for how well it works if you are already experiencing cold symptoms. Worth a try though when you're getting the product for free!

If you are looking for a cleaner that is Green-Seal certified, then you will want to try Concentrate 128. Concentrate 128 is biodegradable, yet powerful enough to be used throughout your home as an excellent cleaning solution.

One of the benefits of Concentrate 128 is that it saves you a boatload of money. It comes in concentrated form, so you dilute it with water at home. According to their website, the cost is as little as $.05 per quart.Concentrate 128 is a hydrogen peroxide solution that also contains orange oil. You can use it to clean glass, degrease your stove, wash your carpets, deodorize your bathrooms and wash your linoleum floors. You can use this product on any surface that is not harmed by water.

Save those little slivers of soap

Recycling soap saves money.

If you are anything like me, you'll feel like you are losing money when your soap gets down to an unmanageable sliver. Tossing it in the trash feels like a waste. I decided to do a little research to see if there was anything I could do with those last bits of soap that are too hard to handle. Turns out there are several things you can do.

Make a new bar of soap. Store the leftover bits in gallon size plastic zipper bag until you have enough to make new bars of soap. Simply grate the pieces up and melt them over a double boiler. Grease a soap mold or a silicone muffin pan and pour your liquid soap in there. Set aside to cool and set. Now you have a new bar of soap that is easy to handle.
Make a soap squeegee. Find a mesh bag or a pair of nylons you no longer need. Place a few soap slivers in the end of the bag and tie a knot above them. You can use this in the shower to lather up and scrub your body.

Make laundry detergent. I make my own laundry detergent at home. There are only four ingredients necessary to do this: water, washing soda, Borax, and liquid castile soap. Once I have enough soap slivers, I'll just grate the slivers down and use them in place of the liquid castile soap. Many families that make their own laundry detergent prefer to use grated soap anyway.

Use as a pest deterrent. Some people like to place old soap in a pair of nylon stockings and hang them around their yard to deter pests. I've never tried this myself so I can't vouch that it actually works. Since others swear by it, I thought it was worth adding in case you want to give it a try.

Free car shaped soap

Zest has a special addition soap free for the taking

One staple that no house can do without is soap. It is one of my favorite items to purchase because there is almost always a coupon out for name brand soaps that allows me to stock up on it without paying full price. Recently, I discovered that Zest, one of the better smelling soaps on the market, is giving away a free bar of soap this week.

Zest is calling their giveaway the Zest Bathvroom Giveaway. This is because the bar of soap they are giving away is in the shape of a car. This may be just what you need to get your reluctant sons to take a bath. Of course, the men in your house may like it just as much. This is how the Zest soap giveaway works. You need to head to their Facebook page and click the “like” button. Do this at noon because the first 200 people each day at noon Eastern Time are going to be the ones to receive the free special edition forms of soap.

Once you get to the form, you'll need to fill out first name, e-mail address and zip code. Then Zest has a secret question that you must answer, but don't worry because it is very easy. There are two boxes that you can either check or leave unchecked.

I leave them unchecked so that I don't receive any extra e-mails, but if you enjoy the products Zest manufactures then you may want to check the boxes. Finally, you'll need to type in the special words in the box so that the company knows you are human and not a robot.

Free Sample: Chocolate Cream of Wheat

Start your morning off with something sweet.

I enjoy a nice hot bowl of Cream of Wheat on a cold fall or winter morning. We also always keep a box on hand for use during illnesses. Cream of Wheat seems to be nice and easy on the stomach, which makes it perfect for consuming during a cold or after a stomach bug. Anyway, Cream of Wheat has now come out with a new flavor-chocolate. In order to get more customers for the product, Cream of Wheat is offering a free sample of their new chocolate Cream of Wheat.

Each day during the entire month of October, Cream of Wheat is offering the first 10,000 individuals who fill out the form on their Facebook page to receive a free sample of their chocolate Cream of Wheat. When I logged on at 10 am, they were down to 3,527 free samples so make sure you request the sample before lunch or you will likely have to wait until the next day.

Only one free offer per household is allowed. All you have to do is “Like” the page and fill out the form. The form requires your full name, mailing address, and email address. There are also two boxes you could check if you want to receive future emails. I left them blank though. Finally, you'll have to fill out a quick survey, which doesn't take long at all. Then you click “Submit” and you'll get a confirmation email with a unique number that lets you know your request is being processed. According to their website, your sample should arrive within six to eight weeks.
